Scripture clearly differentiates between the "public" use of the spiritual "gift of tongues with interpretation" (which edifies others) and the "private" use of a spiritual language that edifies one's self (ie. praying in tongues, singing in tongues, praising in tongues) - clearly that is not the same purpose/demonstration as the Acts 2 evangelistic miracle of tongues. Paul gives clear guidelines concerning these two demonstrations and even says that he wishes everyone would "speak in tongues" as he does (private use, self edification), yet also says that not everyone will exercise the gift of tongues (public use, to edify others). I received my "prayer language" over 30 years ago and use it daily. Stop grieving the Holy Spirit by teaching that it doesn't exist.

What a confusing and silly presentation. So many words it from scripture and many analogies outside the Bible used to explain God. Why not let God speak for Himself?

God's word are in the bible but I feel like not everything in the bible is from God. Old testament is the reason why he had to bring his word himself in flesh.

Why does Matthew 28 say an earthquake opens the tomb after the women arrive, while John 20 says the tomb was already open when the women arrived? Also, Matthew's story tells this grandiose story of the guards and Jews inventing a lie about the disciples stealing Jesus's body, but this story is absent in the other gospels. And John's gospel implies no guards were at the tomb when the women arrived, while Matthew says the guards were there and terrified by the earthquake.

I was hoping he would tackle he difficult texts for this interpretation. Such as Hebrews 1 and others where angels are spirits. Certainly the can take human form but does that give them human DNA?

But God blessed and praised his polygamous messengers. He never once condemned them for breaking his law in this area. Beware of the deception from a Preacher that will not tell you that you he is a TULIP Calvinist when indeed he is. He is being deceptive to the a Church or pastors search committee. Should he become their pastor, it could be destructive to the congregation that’s not Calvinist. I have witnessed this deception and this destruction in a few local Churches in my county and surrounding counties.

I always thought that God allowed it because of all the wars killing so many available men. This would create a shortage of men and an abundance of women. Thus the human race would otherwise wither away and become extinct. In the New Testament there were no wars in Israel and thus it was not permitted. So it was never permitted in the first place.

I left an SBC church after 25 years because I wasn’t “mature” enough spiritually and was treated like a second class person. I was raised and baptized/confirmed in another faith that apparently wasn’t recognized by the Baptist church. I had intended to get baptized by “dunking” at some point but when they began to subtly shun me, I had no desire. I walked away and am content in the Episcopal Church, very much accepted.

When BIBLE talk about numbers it is literal. you are talking about the great crowd that no man can count. but 144 thousand we can absolutely count. The 144 are blameless, no lies in their mouth. They are virgins not defiled with women. They are actually all male. the great crowd are men and women. They will rule with Christ.

There’s no evidence that there even was a tomb/that he even had a burial. In most occasions the Roman’s would just dump the bodies of crucified people to the animals. In Deuteronomy it mentions that crucified Jews must be buried the night of death however the Roman’s say that they only buried them if the Jewish authorities asked and even then it was unlikely. Also, if the romans or the Jewish authority knew where he was buried why is there no mention of A. The authorities going to the burial and finding Jesus’ body or B. Going to the tomb and finding that the body had vanished? The morals and way of living that Jesus represents are extremely important, and people should mold their lives around how Jesus lived, except to worship him as divine (I believe) is a mistake. I think his apostles were tricked into believing or faked his resurrection and the repercussions of that continue to this day
